About: We wrote and designed this piece to update donors about their recent impact, thanks to their support of the organization's SAFE program.Â
Little Emmanuel was diagnosed with hydrocephalus — a brain disorder caused by a buildup of too much fluid in the ventricles. This report shares the story of his mother's pursuit to find quality medical care for him. The story celebrates the family, the hospital team, and the donors. Thanks to the generosity of donors — SAFE stepped in to fully fund Emmanuel’s surgery. The procedure was a success, and the family was overjoyed. For the first time in what seemed ages, his mother dared to envision a future where Emmanuel could grow strong and healthy. “I feel so relieved,” she said.
